The Snaresbrook Crown Court in London has confirmed that Nigerian dancer and socialite Iweh Pascal Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, is due to appear before the court on September 15, 2026, over an alleged assault.
The court confirmed the scheduled appearance in correspondence with a media inquiry on Tuesday, providing the first direct confirmation that the case is listed for proceedings.
The court’s Admin Team Lead, James Baker, said the matter is scheduled for plea and trial preparation on September 15.
He, however, said the court would not release the exact hearing time or courtroom details until the day before the proceedings.
The confirmation followed an inquiry to the court concerning reports surrounding the allegation against Poco Lee.
According to the court, the hearing will be open to members of the public.
The development also follows information provided by Benjamin Kuti, popularly known as the Oluomo of Derby and founder of a UK-based Nigerian community organisation.
Kuti had said Poco Lee was being held on remand in a UK prison and was expected to appear before Snaresbrook Crown Court on September 15.
He said he became aware of the case through his involvement in supporting Nigerians facing legal proceedings in the United Kingdom.
Kuti had also explained that a plea hearing gives an accused person the opportunity to indicate whether they intend to plead guilty or not guilty.
The court’s confirmation establishes that the matter is formally listed for September 15, although details of the allegation and the proceedings will be determined through the UK legal process.
Poco Lee remains entitled to the presumption of innocence unless and until he is proven guilty by a court.
