Nigeria Customs Service releases final list for 2024/2025 recruitment exercise *How to check
The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has released the final list of successful candidates in its 2024/2025 recruitment exercise for the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Customs II (ASC II), marking another major step in the process of strengthening the agency’s workforce.
The Service also announced that the next stage of the recruitment exercise will commence on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, when successful candidates are expected to begin uploading their Medical Certificates of Fitness through a dedicated online portal.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Monday by the National Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Customs Service, Deputy Comptroller of Customs Abdullahi Maiwada.
According to the statement, the medical certificate upload and documentation exercise is compulsory for all shortlisted candidates and forms part of the requirements for final enlistment into the Service.
Successful candidates advised to check final list
Maiwada urged all applicants who participated in the recruitment exercise to verify their status by visiting the official Nigeria Customs Service website at www.customs.gov.ng or checking selected national newspapers where the names of successful candidates have been published.
He added that the Service has also commenced sending notifications to successful applicants through their registered email addresses and SMS messages.
According to him, the messages contain detailed instructions on the next phase of the recruitment process, including the documentation procedures and timelines that must be observed.
The spokesman advised candidates to ignore unofficial messages or requests from individuals claiming to facilitate the recruitment process, stressing that all communication from the Service would come through its approved channels.
Medical certificate upload begins Wednesday
The Nigeria Customs Service disclosed that the online portal for uploading Medical Certificates of Fitness will be activated on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.
Successful candidates are expected to log on to update.customs.gov.ng using either their National Identification Number (NIN) or the email address used during the recruitment application.
Once logged into the portal, candidates are required to upload a valid Medical Certificate of Fitness obtained from a government-recognised hospital.
The Service explained that the medical certificate is a mandatory requirement designed to confirm that successful applicants meet the physical and medical standards necessary for service in the Nigeria Customs Service.
Candidates have been given one week from the activation of the portal to complete the upload process.
Candidates to accept provisional appointment
In addition to submitting their medical certificates, successful candidates are required to update their current state of residence on the recruitment portal.
The Service also directed applicants to formally accept their provisional offers of appointment by clicking the “Accept Offer” button after completing the required documentation.
According to the statement, candidates who complete the process successfully will receive a Trainee Identification Number within one week.
The identification number will be used throughout the remaining stages of the recruitment process, including documentation, verification and subsequent training activities.
The Customs Service noted that more information concerning physical screening, documentation requirements, screening venues and reporting dates would be communicated to candidates through official channels.
Customs warns against failure to comply
The Service warned that every successful candidate must strictly comply with the instructions and deadlines provided during the documentation exercise.
It stressed that failure to upload the required Medical Certificate of Fitness, update personal information or formally accept the provisional offer within the stipulated timeframe could result in immediate disqualification.
According to the statement, non-compliance with any aspect of the recruitment guidelines will automatically lead to the forfeiture of the provisional appointment.
The Service therefore urged candidates to complete every requirement promptly and monitor their emails, SMS notifications and the official recruitment portal for further updates.
CGC congratulates successful applicants
On behalf of the Nigeria Customs Service Board, the Comptroller-General of Customs congratulated all successful candidates who made the final recruitment list.
He described their selection as the beginning of a career dedicated to national service, border security, trade facilitation and revenue generation.
The Comptroller-General expressed confidence that the new recruits would strengthen the operational capacity of the Service and contribute to its ongoing modernization efforts.
He encouraged the successful applicants to approach the remaining stages of the recruitment exercise with discipline, integrity and commitment while preparing for the training that will precede their formal deployment across various commands of the Nigeria Customs Service.
