Nollywood in Mourning as Beloved Veteran Actor Taiwo Hassan, Ogogo, Dies After Cancer Battle

Veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, affectionately known as Ogogo, has died following a battle with stage-four cancer, bringing a heartbreaking end to days of anxiety and prayers for his recovery.

His daughter, Kira, announced his passing during a live broadcast from the United Kingdom.

Per Second News had exclusively reported earlier on Sunday that concerns were mounting within the actor’s family as his condition deteriorated, with his twin brother also expressing fears about his health.

In recent days, colleagues, friends and admirers had rallied around the celebrated actor, organising prayer sessions and appealing for urgent medical intervention.

Ogogo’s death marks the loss of one of the most recognisable figures in Yoruba-language cinema, whose memorable performances earned him the affection of audiences across generations.
