The Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the arrest of controversial self-proclaimed Director of the alleged non-valid Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council, Adeniyi Adeyemi, for his absence for trial over allegations of forgery and impersonation.
Adeyemi was billed for trial at the court but was absent for the proceedings after which he was declared as an object of arrest by the presiding justice, Mohammed Umar, following an oral application by the police.
At the court on Tuesday, police lawyer, Wisdom Madaki, presented the application, stating that the the accused is on an eight-count charge marked FHC/ABJ/562/2025, which also relates to alleged offences of fraud.
The case, which was N0. 12 on the court list was stalled ny Adeyemi’s absence, although a lawyer, Genesis Francis, announced his trial on his behalf, which was met by a vehement response by the prosecution which expressed disgruntlement, stating that the litigant has repeatedly failed to show up for trials.
