Brazil football icon Ronaldinho has returned to the sport after signing a new deal with Italian Serie C club Ravenna FC.
The former Barcelona and AC Milan star, who last played professionally for Fluminense in 2015, is set to begin a new chapter with the Italian side.
The 46-year-old will be officially presented by the club during an event in Miami on June 23.

Ronaldinho is not only joining Ravenna as part of the club’s football project but is also a shareholder in the team.
The World Cup winner expressed excitement about his new role, saying he is ready to bring his passion and creativity back to the game.
“New colours, same smile. I cannot wait to dance with the ball and write a beautiful new story,” Ronaldinho said.
He added that football has always represented joy for him and that he hopes to share that feeling with Ravenna.
Ravenna’s ownership and leadership
Ravenna FC is owned by businessman Ignazio Cipriani, who completed his takeover of the club in 2024.
The club’s leadership team also includes former AC Milan executive Ariedo Braida, who serves as vice-president.
Ronaldinho’s arrival adds global attention to Ravenna as the club continues to develop its football ambitions.
