“Na fight we go fight” — Singer Orezi vows to end friendships over support for Lindsay Clancy

Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Orezi has declared that he is prepared to cut ties with friends who express support for American mother Lindsay Clancy following the mistrial in her high-profile murder case.

Orezi, whose real name is Esegine Allen, made his position known through his Instagram Story, strongly rejecting arguments sympathetic to Clancy over the deaths of her three young children.

The singer maintained that regardless of how anyone interprets the case, supporting Clancy would be enough for him to reconsider their friendship.

Addressing his friends, Orezi said anyone who supports Clancy “in any type of way, no matter what angle you decide to judge her situation from” should consider their friendship over.

He added, “Your reasoning is impaired and I can’t deal with such.”

Making his position even clearer, the Afrobeats star warned that if the issue resulted in an argument, “Na fight we go fight.”

Clancy’s case has generated debate over criminal responsibility, postpartum mental illness and the deaths of her children, Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, eight months.

Lindsay Clancy case ends in mistrial

Clancy was accused of strangling her three children at their Massachusetts home in January 2023.

Her defence argued that she was not criminally responsible because of postpartum psychosis and psychiatric medication, while prosecutors maintained that the killings were deliberate.

Following a five-week trial and nearly 40 hours of deliberations, the jury failed to reach a unanimous verdict, prompting the judge to declare a mistrial.

Clancy remains at a state psychiatric hospital, with a status hearing scheduled for September 29.
