Okpebholo appoints 4th Edo SUBEB chair in 21 months


‎Edo state governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has nominated Hon. Ayewoh Ambrose Oyakhilome as executive chairman of the Edo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), making him the fourth person to occupy the position since the administration came into office.

‎The latest nomination, announced by the Secretary to the Edo state government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, comes less than two years into the administration and follows similar appointments which has seen three previous chairmen occupy the position since November 2024.

‎The state government said Ayewoh’s name will be forwarded to the Edo state House of Assembly for consideration and confirmation.

‎’Until his nomination, Ayewoh served as executive chairman of the Edo State Rural Access Roads Agency (RARA), where he contributed to the administration and implementation of government programmes aimed at improving rural connectivity and infrastructure.

‎”His experience and commitment would be brought to bear on policies and initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of education and improving learning outcomes across Edo state,” the statement added.
