World Cup: Two Argentina Stars Protect Homes After England Defeat

Argentina internationals Lisandro Martinez and Alexis Mac Allister reportedly hired private security to protect their homes in the United Kingdom following their country’s dramatic World Cup victory over England.

According to a report by The Sun, the Manchester United defender and Liverpool midfielder had security personnel monitoring their properties for two days after Argentina eliminated England from the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The move came amid heightened emotions following the closely contested semi-final, with Argentina securing a 2-1 victory at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

England took the lead through Anthony Gordon before Argentina responded with goals from Enzo Fernandez and Lautaro Martinez to complete the comeback.

The report said security teams were deployed around the homes of both players as a precaution.

There were, however, no reported attempts to vandalise or damage either Martinez’s or Mac Allister’s property.

The reported security measures highlight the intense reaction surrounding the fixture, particularly given the longstanding football rivalry between England and Argentina.

Both players played important roles in Argentina’s run at the tournament, with Martinez representing Manchester United and Mac Allister continuing his club career with Liverpool.

Argentina’s victory over England secured their place in the World Cup final, where they continued their campaign for another major international title.
