Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has called on Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Moshood Jimoh, to publicly address allegations that he was involved in an alleged attempt to frame a businessman in a murder investigation.
The challenge follows a series of videos released by the activist, in which he questioned the handling of the investigation into the death of Sheriff Salami and raised concerns about the integrity of the criminal justice process.
According to VeryDarkMan, businessman Ahmed Tajudeen Akanbi was allegedly implicated in the murder through a coordinated effort involving senior police officials and another individual identified as Aare Bashiru Fakorede.
The activist claimed that suspects initially arrested in connection with the case did not mention Akanbi in their confessional statements. He further alleged that subsequent statements linking the businessman to the crime were obtained after the suspects were subjected to torture.
In one of the documents displayed during his video, VeryDarkMan said a suspect alleged he was repeatedly assaulted and pressured into making a false statement after witnessing another detainee reportedly die in police custody.
He argued that the differing versions of the suspects’ statements raised serious questions about the credibility of the investigation.
“I just want you to respond to the heavy allegations I laid against you. I said you conspired with Aare Fakorede to set up and pin murder on Ahmed Tajudeen Akanbi. I want you to respond,” VeryDarkMan said.
The activist maintained that the matter goes beyond an individual case, insisting it concerns public confidence in Nigeria’s justice system.

However, VeryDarkMan insists the police officer has yet to directly respond to the specific claims contained in his videos and has renewed his demand for a public explanation.
The development is expected to keep attention on the case as observers await any further response from the police authorities or other relevant institutions.
