Victor Osimhen delivered another impressive performance for Galatasaray on Friday, scoring twice and providing an assist as the Turkish champions defeated Erzurumspor FK 4-0 in their Super Lig clash.
The Nigeria international was involved in three of Galatasaray’s four goals as the visitors secured their first league victory of the season. The result also gave Osimhen an early four-goal tally in the league after two appearances.
Roland Sallai opened the scoring for Galatasaray in the 12th minute before Osimhen turned provider eight minutes later, setting up Yunus Akgün for the second goal.
Osimhen then got his name on the scoresheet just before half-time, finding the net in the 45th minute to give Okan Buruk’s side a commanding 3-0 advantage.
The 27-year-old completed his brace with 10 minutes remaining, with Gabriel Sara supplying the assist for Galatasaray’s fourth goal.
Osimhen remained on the pitch for the entire match and finished the night with two goals and an assist.
Osimhen continues strong start
The performance takes Osimhen’s league return to four goals and one assist from his opening two appearances of the campaign.
Galatasaray, meanwhile, bounced back strongly after opening their league campaign with a 2-2 home draw against Arca Çorum FK.
The emphatic win gives the defending champions an early boost as they look to maintain their dominance in Turkish football.
