“This generator too resemble my own o” — Lady shares how Yahoo neighbour unknowingly admired generator she bought from him
A lady has sparked widespread reactions on social media after recounting how her alleged Yahoo neighbour unknowingly admired a generator she had secretly bought from him through Facebook Marketplace.
According to the lady, she discovered one of the man’s online listings while browsing Facebook Marketplace. She claimed the neighbour, whom she described as a “Yahoo guy”, had advertised a generator he reportedly purchased for ₦450,000 the previous year but was offering it for ₦250,000.
The lady explained that she avoided revealing her identity by using a friend’s Facebook account to negotiate the purchase.
She said the seller eventually agreed to reduce the price to ₦200,000 before arranging to meet her friend at a junction to complete the transaction.
How the generator ended up back in the compound
The lady said her friend collected the generator on her behalf, while she later picked it up at night and kept it at her apartment without the seller realising where it was headed.
She said the situation became awkward the following morning when the neighbour visited her apartment to charge his phone.
According to her, he repeatedly looked at the generator after noticing it on her verandah.
The lady quoted him as saying, “This generator too resemble my own o, they just be like twinne.”

The story has since generated widespread discussion online, with many users finding the encounter humorous while others questioned the risks of secretly buying property from someone living in the same compound.
