THE Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) has invited 44 players to begin preparations for the 2026 African Junior Volleyball Championship scheduled to hold in Egypt.
The federation disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen on Thursday by the Chairman of its Media and Publicity Committee, Godspower Odedede.
According to the statement, the invited players comprise 22 girls for the U-19 category and 22 boys for the U-18 category.
The federation said the players were selected from clubs participating in the Nigeria Premier Volleyball League, National Division One League and National Division Two League.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the national camping programme will commence on Friday at the High Performance Centre, Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
The players are expected to undergo intensive training ahead of the continental championship in Egypt.
The federation expressed confidence that both the U-19 girls’ and U-18 boys’ teams would qualify for the FIVB World Championships through the African Junior Volleyball Championship.
