Bandits kill three residents in Kebbi

Suspected bandits have killed three residents in an attack on Kasabo community in Saminaka, Yauri Local Government Area of Kebbi State, leaving residents mourning the loss of their loved ones.

As gathered, the attackers invaded the community without any apparent security response, forcing residents, including women, children and elderly people, to flee their homes for safety after sighting the gunmen.

A resident, Aminu Salisu, told correspondents on Thursday that the attackers left after carrying out the killings, adding that the quick response of some residents enabled them to escape from the danger.

Following the incident, Kebbi State Governor, Idris, visited the affected community on Tuesday to condole with the families of the victims and other residents.

The governor described the incident as a painful assault on innocent citizens and said his administration would strengthen collaboration with security agencies to improve the protection of communities across the state.

The Dan Masani of Saminaka, Mohammed Bashir, thanked the governor for the visit, saying the deaths had left the community devastated.
