Nollywood actress and media personality Nancy Isime has announced her expansion into film production, declaring that she is ready to tell her own stories after years of bringing others’ visions to life on screen.
Isime shared the career milestone via her Instagram page, revealing that she is stepping behind the camera for the first time as an Executive Producer on an upcoming film project.
“I’ve spent years telling other people’s stories. Now, stepping behind the camera to tell one of my own,” she wrote.
The actress said the project marks a new phase in her career, taking her beyond her familiar role in front of the camera and into the creative and decision-making process behind a film.
Describing it as her first film as an Executive Producer, Isime indicated that the project is one she intends to be closely involved with from its early stages through production.
Rather than only announcing the finished project, she said she would document the journey and allow her followers to see what happens behind the scenes.
According to Isime, that journey will include the meetings, creative decisions, preparations, outfits, successes and the unexpected moments that may come with putting a film together.
She also acknowledged that not everything would necessarily go according to plan, suggesting that her audience would get to see both the exciting and challenging sides of the production process.
The announcement gives her followers a glimpse into a different aspect of her career, with Isime moving from simply participating in stories to taking a more active role in shaping one.
For the actress, the project represents an opportunity to bring her own creative vision to the screen while taking on the responsibilities that come with producing a film.
“I want you to come along for the entire journey,” she told her followers, inviting them to follow the project as it develops.
PerSecondNews reports that Isime ended the announcement with a clear indication that the film is only the beginning of what she hopes will be a new chapter in her career: “We’re just getting started.”
