The 2026/27 Premier League season returns this weekend after an extended international break, with Matchweek 6 set to provide another major test for several clubs competing at both ends of the table.
The league was paused after Matchweek 5 because of a revised international calendar, with domestic action scheduled to resume on Saturday, October 10.
Defending champions Arsenal will open the weekend when they host unbeaten Leeds United at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal will be looking to respond strongly after suffering a 3-0 defeat away to Brighton in their final match before the international break. Leeds, meanwhile, have made an unbeaten return to the top flight under manager Daniel Farke and are among only five teams yet to lose this season.
Other Saturday fixtures will see Aston Villa welcome Brentford, Chelsea face Bournemouth, Ipswich Town take on Fulham and Sunderland host Brighton.
Manchester United will then face Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford in the evening fixture. Both sides will be hoping to improve their early-season form when they meet in what promises to be another closely watched encounter. Tottenham enter the game at the bottom of the table after the opening five Matchweeks.
Sunday brings one of the biggest fixtures of the weekend as Liverpool host Manchester City at Anfield.
Manchester City will arrive as the league leaders after making a perfect start to the campaign, while Liverpool will be aiming to claim an important victory against the early pace-setters. The match will also feature two of the league’s leading scorers, with Erling Haaland on five goals and Alexander Isak on four heading into the fixture.
The remaining Sunday matches will see Crystal Palace host Nottingham Forest and Hull City face Everton.
Matchweek 6 will conclude on Monday, October 12, when Coventry City welcome Newcastle United. Coventry head into the match after securing their first points and victory of the season against Nottingham Forest.
