The All Progressives Congress (APC) has commenced the upload of its candidates for the Senate and House of Representatives to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal, in compliance with electoral guidelines.
The move follows the approval of the final list by the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), after reviewing reports from its Primary Appeal Committees.
Sources within the party confirmed that several candidates received Form EC9 from INEC on Monday night, signaling their formal recognition for the upcoming elections.
Among the confirmed senatorial candidates are Sunday Karimi (Kogi West), Paul Ikonne (Abia South), Emmanuel Udende (Benue North-East), Adeniyi Adegbonmire (Ondo Central), Titus Tartenger (Benue North-West), and Olajide Ipinsagba (Ondo North).
For the House of Representatives, candidates include Donald Ojogo (Ilaje/Ese-Odo), Festus Adefiranye (Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo/Odigbo), John Odimayo (Okitipupa/Irele), Abdulazeez Kaka (Kaduna North), Samuel Okezie (Ukwa East/Ukwa West), and Abubakar Abdullahi (Suleja/Tafa/Mokwa), among others.
In a letter dated June 29 and signed by APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, and National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru, the party stated that the list represents its final position following the resolution of appeals arising from the primaries.
The letter noted that the submission aligns with the Electoral Act and INEC regulations, urging the commission to take necessary action.
Meanwhile, APC candidates in Oyo State have also received their nomination documents in Abuja. Those issued forms include senatorial candidates Yunus Akintunde (Oyo Central), Remi Oseni (Oyo South), and Hannah Ogunesan (Oyo North), alongside multiple House of Representatives candidates across the state.
Speaking during the presentation, Yilwatda described the Oyo primaries as free and fair, congratulating the candidates and wishing them success in the forthcoming elections.
However, discontent persists in Ondo State, where some aggrieved aspirants have protested, alleging irregularities and calling on the party leadership to address their concerns.
