I was never arrested in Rivers, says Amb Shoon

The Managing Director of Excel Optoelectronics Company Limited, Ambassador Emmanuel Shoon Patrick, has denied reports circulating on Facebook and a Chinese medium claiming that he was arrested by security agencies in Port Harcourt, Rivers state.

Shoon Patrick said he has never been arrested by any agency, including the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Speaking with journalists in his office recently, Shoon described the reports as false and misleading, insisting that he has never been arrested or tracked by any security agency.

He said the reports were deliberately circulated by the managing director of another company.

He further stated that the said managing director of the company requested to purchase the LED screens on credit  and when the company refused, he  proposed making an initial deposit of N10 million, which he said was borrowed.

Shoon added that after receiving a screenshot of the payment, he noticed that the balance displayed on the account appeared sufficient to cover the full value of the invoice.

“The same man who has been evading arrest by the police and sued by myself  and the company  for defamation  is the fellow playing  the victim.

“I felt uncomfortable because the transaction started on the wrong footing. Consequently, the company decided to withdraw from the deal.

“After that, he threatened to defame both the company and its managing director by publishing false and defamatory stories and he made good his promise, ” Shoon said.
