Youth groups in Taraba state Wednesday applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the establishment of the Nigerian Army 10 Division in the state.
The spokesperson of the group, Comrade Sani Bello while speaking during a joint peaceful rally held in Jalingo described the development as a major boost to security and peace efforts in the state.
“This gathering was organised to express the group’s appreciation to the president for approving the new military formation.
“The establishment of the 10 Division had generated excitement among residents and renewed their hope for lasting peace and improved security in Taraba state,” he stated.
He assured the Nigerian Army of the people’s support and willingness to cooperate with the new formation in its efforts to maintain peace and protect communities across the state.
“Thanks to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who looked upon Taraba with compassion and gave us this mighty shield.
“We also extend our profound thanks to the Chief of Defence Staff and the Chief of Army Staff, under whose leadership this dream has taken concrete form. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed, our hearts are full,” he said.
He highlighted that the group had prepared letters of appreciation for President Tinubu, the Chief of Army Staff and the Chief of Defence Staff.
He said the letters would be presented through the Commander of the 6 Brigade, Jalingo, for onward delivery to the military authorities.
