The Plateau state governor, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the dualisation and construction of the Mararaban Jama’a–Pankshin–Langtang–Shendam–River Ibi Road,
He described the project as a historic infrastructure intervention that will unlock the economic potential of Plateau state and deepen regional integration.
The governor said the approval of the strategic federal highway reflects President Tinubu’s commitment to inclusive national development and the bridging of critical infrastructure gaps across the country.
In a statement issued Sunday by the director of Press and Public Affairs to the governor, Dr Gyang Bere, Mutfwang said the road project would significantly improve the movement of people and goods, reduce transportation costs, stimulate agricultural production and commerce, attract investments, promote tourism and strengthen socio-economic ties across the North-central and North-east regions.
“This approval is not just about the construction of a road; it is about restoring hope, expanding economic opportunities, creating jobs, opening up rural communities, and accelerating the development of the North central and North-east corridors.
“It is a project that will positively impact generations to come,” the governor said.
Mutfwang expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for responding to the aspirations of the people of Plateau state, describing him as “a dependable ally and partner” whose administration has continued to demonstrate genuine commitment to the peace, welfare and development of the state.
The governor also praised the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, for what he described as his strategic engagement in facilitating the approval of the project.
