The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested ten suspects in connection with offences including culpable homicide, theft, and vandalism, according to a statement issued on Sunday by the command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje.
Commissioner of Police Kabiru Hassan oversaw the operations, which yielded results over the past week.
Among those apprehended is Abubakar Musa, arrested in Yola North for the alleged killing of 30-year-old Nathaniel Yusuf. The victim was rescued and rushed to hospital but later succumbed to his injuries. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further inquiry and prosecution.
In a separate intelligence-led operation, the State Intelligence Department arrested a 26-year-old suspect in Kano and recovered a 2016 Toyota Corolla Sport valued at ₦18 million. SCID operatives also recovered another stolen vehicle during surveillance patrols in Yola, with the prime suspect now in custody.
The command has extended its preventive policing campaign against cultism and other vices to government secondary schools across the state. Commissioner Hassan also received a courtesy visit from the Police Community Relations Committee leadership to enhance collaboration and intelligence-sharing.
Other recovered items include 285 vandalised NNPC pipelines, six gas cylinders, a J5 bus, and an offensive weapon. All suspects will face prosecution upon conclusion of investigations.
