A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Anselm Ijebor, has expressed support for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, describing him as the most suitable candidate to lead Nigeria ahead of the 2027 general election.
Ijebor said Obi’s record in public service, coupled with what he described as his integrity, competence and commitment to national development, makes him the preferred choice for rebuilding the country.
Speaking on the political landscape ahead of the next presidential election, the PDP chieftain said he would actively mobilise support for Obi.
He also urged Nigerians to carefully assess candidates based on their experience, leadership qualities and ability to address the country’s social and economic challenges.
According to Ijebor, the 2027 elections present an opportunity for Nigerians to elect leaders capable of promoting accountability, transparency and effective governance.
“As the 2027 general election approaches, Nigerians have an opportunity to elect leaders with the experience, vision and capacity to deliver good governance and rebuild the country. To me, Obi remains the best choice,” he said.
The comments add to the growing political conversations ahead of the 2027 elections, with political stakeholders across party lines increasingly expressing their preferences and endorsements.
As political activities gather momentum, parties are expected to intensify consultations and campaigns ahead of the election season.
