2027: Alia to grace lecture on Igedeland political leadership recruitment system


 

The governor of Benue state, Dr. Hyacinth Alia, is set to grace a lecture being organised by a group, Association of Igede Media Professionals (AIMP) on the political leadership recruitment system in Igedeland.

The event, which is the second in the group’s annual lecture series has the theme; “Rethinking Political Leadership Recruitment System in Igedeland Ahead of 2027.”

A statement signed by chairman of its Central Planning Committee, Akobo Ulaka, and the head, media and publicity sub-committee, Dr Joe Agi-Ajochi, described the lecture as “a forum for a robust honest dialogue and exchange of ideas.”

It said it will offer patriotic sons and daughters of Igede nation the insight to ensuring the emergence of only credible political leaders across all strata of governance.

The statement announced that the event, slated for July 16, 2026 at the Merit House, Abuja, will be chaired by the permanent secretary, Federal Ministry of Finance, Mr Raymond Omenka Omachi, while spokesperson of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Benson Upah, will be the guest speaker.

The Adirahu Ny’Igede, Chief Oga Ero, CP (rtd) is the Royal Father of the Day while the former Economic Adviser to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Prof Ode Ojowu is the Father of the Day.
