The family of a judge at the Zamfara High Court, Bello Shinkafi, has died following a prolonged battle with illness.
Shinkafi died while receiving medical intervention at the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital leaving family members, colleagues and members of the legal profession have been thrown into mourning, describing him as a dedicated judicial officer committed to the administration of justice in Zamfara State.
Justice Shinkafi died in the early hours of Wednesday after a prolonged illness, according to a family member who announced his passing in Gusau, although details of the illness were not made public.
Shinkafi served as a judge of the Zamfara State High Court II and was widely known within the state’s judiciary for his role in handling civil and criminal matters.
In line with Islamic rites, his funeral prayer has been scheduled to hold at his residence in Gusau by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, after which he will be laid to rest.
