Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has relieved all his political appointees and senior aides of their duties in a minor cabinet reshuffle aimed at reinvigorating his administration.
The affected officials include all Special Advisers, Advisers, Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants in the state government, as well as the Deputy Chief of Staff and the Principal Private Secretary to the Governor.
The development was announced in a statement issued on Monday in Ilorin by the Deputy Chief Press Secretary, Mashood Agboola.
According to the statement, the reshuffle is intended to create opportunities for more members of the ruling party while injecting fresh ideas and renewed energy into governance.
It added that the decision forms part of the governor’s efforts to strengthen the administration and broaden participation within the government.
“His Excellency expresses his gratitude to all the appointees for their priceless service to the state. He wishes them the best in their future endeavours,” the statement read.
Governor AbdulRazaq also directed all affected officials to immediately hand over government property in their possession to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government.
The government noted that the exercise is limited in scope and represents a minor reorganisation of the governor’s cabinet and support structure.
