Argentina head coach Lionel Scaloni has revealed the message he usually gives captain Lionel Messi before he enters the pitch.
The manager shared his thoughts after Messi came from the bench to score in Argentina’s 3-1 victory over Jordan at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Scaloni decided to start the match without Messi as Argentina completed their final group-stage fixture.
The Inter Miami forward was introduced during the second half and made his presence felt by scoring Argentina’s third goal.
His contribution helped the defending champions secure another important victory in the tournament.
Coach says Messi needs little instruction
Speaking after the match, Scaloni joked that his main instruction to Messi is simply to go and win the game.
The Argentina manager explained that Messi’s experience and understanding of football mean he does not require detailed instructions before playing.
Scaloni said giving Messi basic tactical directions would not make sense because of his ability and football intelligence.
