JUST IN: Court fines SERAP N100m for defaming two DSS officers

A Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Abuja has awarded N100 million in damages against the Incorporated Trustees of the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP).

Delivering judgment, Justice Halilu Yusuf held that two operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) were justified in filing a defamation suit against SERAP.

The case was instituted by two DSS officials, Sarah John and Gabriel Ogundele, who alleged that SERAP falsely claimed they invaded its Abuja office on September 9, 2024.
