The All Progressives Congress (APC) has extended the deadline for the sale and submission of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for aspirants ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The updated timetable forms part of the broader schedule leading to the party’s primaries, which are expected to follow shortly after the screening exercise.
Under the revised timetable, the sale of nomination forms will now close at midnight on Wednesday, 6 May 2026, while aspirants are expected to complete and submit their duly filled forms by midnight on Thursday, 7 May 2026.
The adjustment is aimed at giving interested candidates additional time to finalise their applications and meet party requirements.
The party has also rescheduled its screening exercise, which will now hold between Friday, 8 May and Tuesday, 12 May 2026. After the exercise, the list of successful aspirants will be published on Wednesday, 13 May 2026.
In a statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, on Monday, the APC said the extension was intended to ensure a smoother, more inclusive, and better-organised process for all aspirants seeking the party’s tickets ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party added that the additional time would also ensure proper documentation and strict adherence to established guidelines by all participants.
Party leaders and stakeholders are expected to closely monitor the process as the revised timelines take effect, with the APC intensifying preparations to field candidates across various elective positions ahead of the 2027 polls.
