Oyo APC unveils 50 candidates for 2027 elections

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has unveiled Sharafadeen Alli and 49 other candidates to contest various elective positions in the 2027 general elections.

The candidates emerged from the party’s internal processes and were formally presented as its flag-bearers for the governorship, Senate, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly elections.

The unveiling was held on Friday at the Oyo State APC Secretariat in Oke-Ado, Ibadan, with party leaders, stakeholders and supporters in attendance.

Alli, who currently represents Oyo South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, expressed appreciation to the party leadership and members for giving him the opportunity to fly its flag in the governorship election.

He called on other aspirants who contested the ticket with him to join hands with him, describing them as partners in the party’s quest to win the 2027 election.

The governorship candidate also urged APC members to avoid internal divisions, saying unity would strengthen the party’s chances of securing victory across the state.

He pledged that, if elected, his administration would focus on education, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure and other areas capable of improving the lives of residents.

Soji Adedeji was presented as Alli’s running mate, while Yunus Akintunde, Hannah Ogunsean and Aderemi Oseni emerged as the party’s senatorial candidates for Oyo Central, Oyo North and Oyo South respectively.

The 14 House of Representatives candidates include Akeem Adeyemi, Olafiye Akinmoyede, Tajudeen Kareem, Akinola Adekunle Alabi, Umar Arisekola, Olatunji Olaiya, Folake Olunloyo-Oshinowo, Sarafadeen Olaoniye, Yusuf Osuolale, Bosun Oladele, Saheed Yusuf, Olamiju Alao-Akala, Olusegun Odebunmi and Tolulope Sadipe.

The party also presented candidates for the 32 State House of Assembly constituencies, while the state Chairman, Chief Adeyemo Alake, charged members and leaders to close ranks and work towards the success of the party in 2027.

Alake said the candidates unveiled at the ceremony had been affirmed by the APC as its representatives in the forthcoming elections, urging party stakeholders to support them as preparations gather momentum.
