The Karu Local Government Council of Nasarawa State has challenged its former chairman, Hon. Joseph Kaura, to provide evidence to substantiate his claim that the council generated N1 billion in revenue.
The council urged Kaura to make available verifiable records showing the alleged revenue generation and its remittance for public scrutiny.
In a statement issued on Thursday by Adamu Ladan, Senior Special Assistant on Media and Strategic Communications to the Executive Chairman, the council said it did not generate up to N1 billion in revenue in 2025.
It specifically challenged Kaura to provide evidence of the alleged N1 billion revenue and its remittance, stressing that the records should be made available for public verification.
The council also defended the performance of the administration of Executive Chairman, Barr. Abubakar Madaki, saying it had executed several projects within its one-and-a-half years in office.
It said records of the projects were available for verification by members of the public.
The council assured residents of Karu Local Government Area of its commitment to transparency and accountability, as well as the continued implementation of development projects across the area.
