Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal has taken a direct swipe at FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, dismissing his “Rainbow Coalition” as politically vague and hypocritical.
In an fiery interview with Channels Television’s Inside Sources at the 81st UN General Assembly in New York, Lawal referred to the former Rivers governor as “this guy,” promising to report Wike’s political maneuvers directly to President Bola Tinubu once he returns from his working vacation.
Demanding clarity, Lawal insisted Wike cannot keep one foot in the APC and another in opposition parties.
The minister’s controversial Rainbow Coalition—designed to back Tinubu for 2027 while fielding cross-party candidates for state and legislative offices—has already drawn heavy fire from APC governors led by Imo State’s Hope Uzodimma.

Reiterating the governors’ position, Lawal declared that Wike must choose where his political allegiance lies.
“Our message is very very clear, be on one side, you can’t be on two sides. If you are in APC, please come out and support the APC, not that you are supporting APC here and you are supporting some other political parties somewhere else.
“We (APC governors) maintain our stand and the message is very clear. He (Wike) can speak, he can say whatever he wants to say, but our position has been very clear, APC all the way from head to toe,” he said.
Asked directly if governors want Wike to formally join the APC, Lawal didn’t mince words: “Exactly!”
The Zamfara governor pledged to take the matter straight to President Tinubu once he returns from his working leave in France, insisting it is time to end Wike’s political fence-sitting.
“It’s something I will discuss with the president when he comes back,” Lawal declared.
“Let there be a clear line on where this guy belongs. It’s either he is in the APC or he is out—simple. On this, I stand fully with my fellow governors.”
