The Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Sanwo-Olu, has presented equipment tolls to 3,792 recipients in an attempt to aid their business enterprises and encourage resident’s involvement in Small and Medium enterprises in the area.

Sanwo-Olu presented sewing machines, generators, clippers and sterilizing machines, grading machines and refrigerators to the recipients, stating that the initiative borders on his administration’s interest to build the state where every hard-working inhabitant has the opportunity to prosper.

At the presentation held tagged The Micro Enterprise support Initiative (MESI) held at the Blue Roof of the Lagos Television premises in Agindigbi, Ikeja, on Tuesday, the governor who also gave out industrial gasses and pot, cassava processing machines, hair dryer and tiling machines, held that the programme is also aimed at improving the livelihoods of the beneficiaries to be able to contribute their quota to the development of the metropolis.

“Today, we are reaffirming a promise this administration has consistently kept that governance must improve lives, create opportunities and empower our people to achieve their full potential,” Sanwo-Olu said.

“The Micro Enterprise Support Initiative (MESI) is that promise in action, and another important milestone in our collective effort to build a Lagos where every hardworking resident has the opportunity to prosper.

“Today alone, 3,792 beneficiaries will receive empowerment tools and equipment to strengthen their businesses, improve their livelihoods and contribute meaningfully to the economic growth of our State.

“This is why we have remained intentional about economic empowerment. The strength of our economy depends not only on large corporations, but on the resilience and productivity of our small business owners, artisans, traders, women entrepreneurs and young people. When we empower one entrepreneur, we strengthen a family; when we support thousands, we strengthen the economy of Lagos State,” he added.

“This administration believes that true leadership is about creating opportunities, not dependency. Every empowerment package distributed today represents hope renewed, dreams restored and renewed confidence in the ability of our people to succeed through hard work and determination”.

To the recipients, Sanwo-Olu said, “I congratulate today’s beneficiaries, and reiterate that these tools are not simply items of empowerment; they are instruments for building a better future.

“Make the most of them. Grow your businesses, create employment, support your families and become ambassadors of enterprise within your communities.”

The governor assured every Lagosian that this administration will remain focused on keeping its promises, and uttered, “We will continue to invest in our people, expand opportunities for small businesses, strengthen economic inclusion and ensure that the benefits of good governance reach every ward, every community and every household across Lagos State, so that we can continue to build a Lagos where opportunity is within everyone’s reach, enterprise is rewarded, hard work is encouraged and prosperity is shared.
