Portuguese footballer, Christiano Ronaldo, has sent condolences to fellow sportsman, Lionel Messi, over the passing of his father, Jorge.
Ronaldo penned an emotional online message on an online link shared by the Argentine footballer in tribute to his late dad, offering emotional support to him in the difficult period.
”Huge hug to you and your loved ones in this difficult moment, Leo, Stay strong” reads the message from the Selecao figure on Wednesday, the beep coming after Messi expressed that he would go sabbatical from the round leather game to be with his family and also recover to return to the sport.
The Inter Miami player, who has since returned to his native Rosario, with his wife, Antonella, and children, admitting that he is not sure how much longer he would continue playing football.
Reports have it that Jorge has been buried on Sunday, August 9 at the El Prado Cemetery in Perez, a close region to Rosario. He is survived by wife, Celia Cuccinttini, four children in Messi himself, Matias, Rodrigo, Maria, as well as grandkids.
