The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested 16 suspected kidnappers and recovered 410 cattle during major security operations targeting criminal elements.
The Command also disclosed that several notorious kidnappers were neutralised, while several suspects involved in different criminal activities were apprehended during the operations.
According to the police, the operations also led to the recovery of 10 firearms of different calibres, the arrest of three gunrunners, and the seizure of other dangerous items linked to criminal activities.
The Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, CP Rabiu Muhammad, made the disclosure during a press briefing with journalists on Tuesday.
Muhammad highlighted the successes recorded within two weeks of intensified security operations in Kaduna State.
Furthermore, the police commissioner revealed that six suspects were arrested for allegedly possessing 170 counterfeit dollar notes, while operatives recovered a stolen vehicle, 83 packs of hard drugs, 32 stolen mobile phones and two plasma televisions.
In addition, he said police operatives recovered 190 solar inverter units valued at N69 million, as part of efforts to disrupt criminal networks and recover stolen property.
The Kaduna State Commissioner of Police said the achievements reflected the commitment of the command to protecting residents and tackling insecurity across the state.
“We will continue to sustain our operations against criminal elements and ensure that those involved in kidnapping, gunrunning and other offences are brought to justice,” the commissioner stated.
