Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has approved the appointment of a new commissioner, three special advisers and 1,000 senior and special assistants as part of efforts to strengthen governance and service delivery.
The appointments comprise one commissioner-designate, three Special Advisers, 90 Senior Special Assistants and 910 Special Assistants, bringing the total number of appointments approved by the governor to 1,004.
According to a statement issued on Thursday by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, the appointments are aimed at strengthening the administration’s capacity and improving engagement with residents across the state.
Adeniyan said Erelu Oloruntoba from Akoko North-West Local Government Area had been nominated as the Commissioner for Special Duties, with her name forwarded to the State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
The three Special Advisers appointed are Abimbola Fajolu from Ileoluji-Okeigbo Local Government Area, Special Adviser on Environment; Ade Adeniyi from Ondo West Local Government Area, Special Adviser on Rural and Community Development; and Muyiwa Ogunyemi from Akoko North-East Local Government Area, Special Adviser on Transport.
Among the 90 Senior Special Assistants are Erelu Ogungbure, SSA on Women Mobilisation (South); Bidemi Obayangbon, SSA on Forestry; Gboluge Alex, SSA on Community Engagement (South); Akin Adeniyi, SSA on Community Engagement (Central); Obayan Ayodeji, SSA on Community Engagement (North); and Kelvin Solomon, SSA on Students Affairs.
Others include Adeolu Iwakun, SSA on Volunteer Services; Samson Bazuaye, SSA on Oil and Gas; Fade Ojamomi, SSA on Youth Empowerment and Job Creation; Sam Adepoju, SSA on Public Engagement; Samad Orijeminiyi, SSA on Scholarship; Victor Omodara, SSA on Grassroots Mobilisation; and Abayomi Adefolalu, SSA on Photography.
The governor also appointed Abdukadiri Adenoyi, Nzuoma Egbulefu and Garba Goni as Senior Special Assistants on Non-Indigenes, among others.
The statement said the full list of the 90 Senior Special Assistants and 910 Special Assistants would be released later, while the appointments take immediate effect.
The commissioner-designate, however, is expected to assume the office formally after completing the required screening and confirmation process by the State House of Assembly.
