NELFUND disburses N180.3m to 2,152 Kano varsity students

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has disbursed ₦180.3 million in student loans to 2,152 students of Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUSTECH), Kano State, for the 2025/2026 academic session.

The disbursement, made in four batches, comprised ₦78.9 million for 946 students under Batch K, ₦75.8 million for 900 students under Batch L, ₦20.6 million for 247 students under Batch M, and ₦4.96 million for 59 students under Batch N.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, NELFUND said the intervention was part of its efforts to reduce financial barriers to higher education and expand access to tertiary education for Nigerian students.

The figures were also confirmed by ADUSTECH in a letter dated July 13, 2026, acknowledging receipt of the funds into the university’s account on behalf of the 2,152 beneficiaries.

The university said the payments were received in four instalments between March and June 2026.

According to the university’s breakdown, Batch K funds were received on March 5, Batch L on March 23, Batch M on April 23, and Batch N on June 1, bringing the total amount received for the 2025/2026 academic session to ₦180,346,256.

The university expressed appreciation to NELFUND for considering its students under the loan scheme, describing the intervention as support towards easing the financial burden associated with pursuing higher education.
