Moment Brazilian defender falls down tunnel during wild goal celebration that was eventually canceled
Coritiba defender Jacy Maranhao suffered an ankle injury after falling into a tunnel while celebrating what he thought was a goal against Chapecoense in the Brazilian top flight.
The 29-year-old centre-back headed the ball into the net in the 41st minute with Coritiba leading 1-0 and immediately raced towards the supporters to celebrate.
Defender disappears after jumping barrier
Caught up in the moment, Jacy vaulted the advertising boards in front of the fans but failed to realise there was a tunnel immediately behind them leading towards the visiting team’s dressing room.
The defender suddenly disappeared from view before managing to climb back out of the passageway.

Jacy was left nursing his ankle after the bizarre incident and was eventually substituted shortly after half-time.
“I twisted my foot there. It’s a bit sore, but I’m fine,” the defender said after the match.
Explaining how he ended up in the tunnel, Jacy admitted he simply became overwhelmed by the moment.
“Centre-backs hardly ever score goals. So when you do score … I just got carried away,” he added.
Rapaz, o melhor ângulo kkkk

VAR adds to bizarre episode
The incident became even more unfortunate for Jacy when VAR intervened and ruled that his goal should not stand.
Despite losing their defender to injury and having the goal overturned, Coritiba eventually secured a 2-1 victory over Chapecoense.
The unusual celebration was not the first time a player has fallen into the same tunnel at Coritiba’s Couto Pereira Stadium.
In 2014, Cameroon striker Joel suffered a similar mishap when he jumped over the advertising barriers while celebrating during Coritiba’s 3-1 victory over Sao Paulo..
