DeeOne Fires Back at Davido Over Campaign for Uncle Adeleke

Nigerian comedian and reality TV personality DeeOne has challenged singer Davido to campaign for his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, by highlighting the governor’s achievements in office.

DeeOne made the remarks while reacting to Davido’s involvement in Adeleke’s re-election campaign ahead of the forthcoming Osun State governorship election.

In a video shared on his official social media page on Friday, the comedian argued that Davido should focus on the governor’s record rather than rely on his personal popularity and celebrity status to campaign for him.

According to DeeOne, Adeleke’s achievements should be presented to voters as the basis for seeking another term in office.

“Instead of using yourself, your brand and name to campaign for your uncle after he spent four years in office, use the thing wey your uncle don do, the work he has done to campaign for him.”

He further challenged Davido to explain to voters what the governor had achieved during his tenure.

“No be say you go say, I’m Davido, vote for Adeleke. If you can’t tell the public what your uncle has done as a governor, he will lose re-election.”

DeeOne also argued that voters should focus on governance and performance rather than celebrity influence.

“We are not voting with emotions. Showcase what your uncle has done for four years. Davido, the people of Osun State deserve good governance not good entertainers,” he said.

The comedian’s comments have sparked discussions online, particularly over the role of celebrities in political campaigns and whether politicians should be judged primarily by their records in office.

Davido has previously expressed support for his uncle and his political activities, while Adeleke is seeking another term as governor.

The Osun State governorship election is scheduled for August 15, 2026, according to the information provided in the report.
