Nigeria’s Falconets are out of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup after a late Colombia goal settled a 1-0 quarter-final in Poland and sent the South Americans into the last four.
The young Super Falcons had controlled the contest until a red card in the 77th minute broke their rhythm and left them with 10 players.
Loboa V struck late to punish the numerical disadvantage and book Colombia’s semi-final place at Nigeria’s expense.
The defeat marks the fifth straight U-20 Women’s World Cup where Nigeria has crashed out in the quarter-finals.
The Falconets controlled early play, but the red card shifted momentum, giving Colombia the opening they needed to strike late.
The final goal ended Nigeria’s run and prolonged their long-standing quarter-final jinx.
