Court fixes August 31 for Zamfara APC primary judgment

The Federal High Court in Gusau, Zamfara State, has fixed August 31, 2026, for judgment in a suit challenging the All Progressives Congress (APC) Zamfara North Senatorial primary.

The suit was filed by Sani Shinkafi, an APC senatorial aspirant, against the party, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and Senator Sahabi Ya’u.

Shinkafi is challenging the conduct of the party’s Zamfara North Senatorial primary, alleging irregularities in the process.

The proceedings were conducted virtually on Friday before Justice Hassan Dikko of the Federal High Court in Gusau.

Counsel to the plaintiff, Bello Galadi, said all parties had adopted their respective final written addresses, paving the way for the court to deliver judgment.

“Today was set aside for the adoption of final written addresses, and all the parties have adopted their written addresses before the court,” he said.

“The matter has now been adjourned to August 31, 2026, for judgment.”

Justice Dikko fixed the date after the parties completed the adoption of their final written submissions.
