Nigerian afrobeats artist David Adeleke, known professionally as Davido, has issued a warning to President Bola Tinubu regarding potential involvement of US President Donald Trump should irregularities occur during the upcoming Osun State governorship election.
The musician delivered this warning during a live session with a comedian.
He emphasised the importance of conducting a free, fair, and credible electoral process, stating he would not remain silent should the election become compromised, indicating his willingness to involve international figures if problems arose.
The artist further stated his intention to draw international attention to any alleged irregularities that might occur.
This warning comes ahead of the August 15 governorship election, in which the incumbent governor, the artist’s uncle, is seeking re-election for a second term.
The musician has reportedly been actively campaigning on behalf of the governor and has repeatedly called on authorities to ensure a transparent electoral process throughout the exercise.
