The Zimbabwean government has informed that it has restored electricity in the country after its inhabitants suffered a four-hour power outage in a nationwide blackout.
The government, following the incident which was caused by a national grid collapse, stated that electricity has now been restored in most of the country, adding that workers are still putting up efforts for a full restoration which will cover other areas.
The South African BnB country, in a statement released on Tuesday, disclosed that a fault ensued on the network and caused wn ssue at the national grid at about 6:24pm yesterday, but was put back at 10pm, as relayed by the country’s Electricity Supply Authority, ZESA.
ZESA informed that the country used supplies from four stations, including South Africa’s Eksom, and added in a statement, ”We are pleased to advise that by 22:00 hours, power has been successfully restored to most of our bulk supply points across the country.
”Work is still going on to restore and synchronise units at the coal-fire Hwange power station at the moment, which supplies parts of the capital, Harare,” it added.
