The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo state Tuesday said Governor Seyi Makinde’s call on the United Nations to investigate the circumstances surrounding the killing, abduction and the rescue of the Oriire teachers and students was shameful, shocking and unbecoming of a leader.
Oyo APC in a statement issued by its publicity secretary, Comrade Olawale Sadare, frowned at call by Governor Makinde on the successful rescue operations of the 46 abducted teachers and students.
The Oyo APC said the call on UN by Gov Makinde was the height of ineptitude, cluelessness and grandstanding, while urging the governor to be “circumspect, decorous and statesman-like in his politicking”
“Nigeria has been battling with banditry and related crimes in recent times as this could be attributed to a number of factors. But most people are worried that Oyo state has emerged the worst hit in the Southern part of the country since 2019 when Gov. Makinde came on board,” the party said.
