The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) is witnessing an unprecedented era of infrastructural transformation, signaling a major shift in how public administration and development are executed in Nigeria’s capital, Joseph Yobo, a former captain of the Nigerian Super Eagles, has said.
Speaking on the sidelines of the ongoing development blitz, Yobo commended the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, saying his aggressive development model has “raised the bar” for public governance in Nigeria.
The former popular footballer noted that while policy implementation has historically been the most stubborn obstacle to progress in Nigerian public administration, Wike’s tenure has completely altered the narrative in the nation’s capital.
“Coming to the FCT and seeing what the minister has achieved is highly commendable and worthy of emulation.
“He has raised the bar for governance by doing exactly what it requires, providing infrastructure and bringing development to the people,” Yobo stated.
The remarks came as the FCT Administration executed an unprecedented, month-long marathon of commissioning major infrastructure projects across the capital city.
The ex-Super Eagles star said the sheer volume of high-impact works currently being unveiled is a direct reflection of Wike’s previous track record as the governor of Rivers state.
