Nigerian comedian and actor Chibunna Stanley, popularly known as Funnybone, has explained why he deliberately keeps his wife and children away from social media.
The entertainer, who confirmed that he is married with two children, said he prefers to separate his public career from his private life.
He made the remarks during a recent appearance on The Moraya Show.
Why Funnybone keeps his family private
When asked why he rarely shares photos or videos of his family online despite being a public figure, Funnybone said privacy is important in today’s digital age.
According to him, not everyone on social media has good intentions, making it safer to keep loved ones away from constant public attention.
He explained that while fans know him as Funnybone, his family knows him by his real name, Chibunna.
“In a world where people are just there to look at what is not looking at them, it is safer for you to keep your personal life private. Outside and on the stage, I am Funnybone, but at home, I am Chibunna,” he said.
Vision for Nigerian comedy
Funnybone also spoke about the future of Nigeria’s comedy industry, expressing optimism that it can achieve greater global recognition.
He said the industry needs to improve its production standards, packaging and marketing strategies to compete on the international stage.
According to the comedian, developing a stronger entertainment ecosystem will help Nigerian comedy reach wider global audiences over the next decade.
