US expands sanctions on Iran's Mahan Air network; India-based Skiez Travels among firms sanctioned

The United States has imposed sanctions on India-based Skiez Travels and Logistics Private Limited as part of a broader action targeting global networks supporting Iranian airline Mahan Air, which Washington says has transported personnel of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), as well as weapons, military equipment and drones.

US Imposes Sanctions

The US Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctioned six entities and individuals in China, India, Russia and Iran, including multiple companies serving as general sales agents for the US- and European Union-sanctioned carrier.

Treasury identified Skiez Travels as Mahan Air’s general sales agent in India, while Russia-based Air Cargo Pro Limited was named as the airline’s sales agent in Russia.

According to the OFAC designation, Skiez Travels was incorporated on November 27, 2020, and is registered under Corporate Identification Number U60210JK2020PTC011906.

US Targets IRGC

The sanctions listing gives addresses in Srinagar and New Delhi and identifies the company as being linked to Mahan Air.

Treasury said those providing financial, logistics or commercial support to the IRGC or Mahan Air help sustain what it described as a terrorist enterprise.
It said the action aims to disrupt the network supporting Iran’s regional activities and also targets an IRGC-affiliated front company accused of supporting Iran’s military operations during the ongoing conflict.

The move comes as a drone strike on gas vessels at Egypt’s Mediterranean port of Damietta signalled a potential new front in the US-Iran conflict, raising concerns over shipping through the Suez Canal, one of the remaining export routes for Saudi oil.

Mahan Air Under Radar

Mahan Air has been under US sanctions since October 2011, when Washington designated the Tehran-based carrier for allegedly providing financial, material and transportation support to the IRGC-Qods Force.
Since then, the United States has repeatedly expanded sanctions against the airline, its aircraft, executives and international support network.

More recently, the European Union sanctioned Mahan Air in October 2024 over allegations that it transported missiles and drones to Russia, while the US announced another round of sanctions in April 2026 targeting procurement and logistics networks linked to Iran’s missile and unmanned aerial vehicle programmes.

The latest action extends those measures to overseas commercial partners, including the Indian company.
