Super Falcons coach Justine Madugu has declared that his side is fully prepared to defend their title and chase World Cup qualification ahead of their tournament opener against Malawi in Rabat.
Addressing the newsmen at the Moulay El Hassan Stadium on Monday, Madugu underlined the weight of the occasion.
“Each time you prepare for any competition, you know what that competition means. We are here for the defense of our title, and the team is fully ready and set to go,” he said.
Madugu, who painted a picture of a squad locked in complete harmony, said: “Team spirit is high. Everyone is fully focused. We know why we are here, and we are ready to take things one step at a time. So we are 100% ready.”
The Super Falcons open their campaign against Malawi tomorrow, a fixture the coach is treating with clear purpose.
“We are playing Malawi tomorrow, and we have every respect for all the teams in the tournament,” he said.
Stressing that qualification itself commands recognition, Madugu said: “Every team that qualifies for this tournament deserves.”
