THE Police command in Adamawa has arrested 10 suspected criminals for alleged offences including culpable homicide, theft and vandalism.

The Command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday in Yola.

Nguroje said the arrests and recoveries were recorded within the last week under the leadership of Commissioner of Police, Mr Kabiru Hassan.

He said one Abubakar Musa was arrested in connection with the alleged killing of 30-year-old Nathaniel Yusuf in Yola North.

“The victim was rescued and rushed to hospital but later died while receiving treatment,” he said.

Nguroje said the case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation and prosecution.

He added that an intelligence-led operation by the State Intelligence Department led to the arrest of a 26-year-old suspect in Kano.

According to him, the operation also led to the recovery of a 2016 Toyota Corolla Sport valued at ₦18 million.

The police spokesperson said operatives attached to the SCID also recovered another stolen vehicle during a routine surveillance patrol in Yola.

He said the prime suspect in connection with the vehicle was arrested.

Nguroje said the command had extended its campaign against cultism and other vices to government secondary schools under its preventive policing strategy.

He added that the CP received the leadership of the Police Community Relations Committee on a courtesy visit.

The visit, he said, was aimed at strengthening collaboration, intelligence sharing and community policing across the state.

Other items recovered included 285 vandalised NNPC pipelines, six gas cylinders, a J5 bus and an offensive weapon. (NAN)
