Osun: Rep Salam-led campaign council dismisses APC’s victory boast

The Imole Campaign Council (TICC) Wednesday dismissed the claim by the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, that the party will defeat incumbent Osun state governor, Ademola Adeleke in the August 15 governorship election.

Yilwatda had based his statement on the deployment of governors, National Assembly members, local government chairmen and other political heavyweights into the APC campaign  machinery, which he said will overwhelm Adeleke.

But chairman of the media and publicity committee of the TICC, and a member of the House of Representatives, Bamidele Salam said Yilwatda’s “trailer versus Keke Napep” analogy was a demonstration of political arrogance.

In a statement, Salam said the APC should be reminded that elections are won by the people and not by the number of governors, National Assembly members or political office holders a party can assemble.
