The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, Thursday asked warring sides in the Ojoo violent clash to give peace a chance.
Oba Ladoja in a statement by his media aide, Chief Adeola Oloko, said the Ojoo crisis warriors should sheath their sword with immediate effect.
Oba Ladoja stated that there is need for peace among various parties involved in the clash at Ojoo in Akinyele local government area of the state.
“Regardless of where we come from, we should continue to see ourselves as brothers and sisters.
“The peaceful co-existence among the various ethnic groups in the land is of paramount concern to me,” said.
Olubadan who did not rule out the possibility of minor disagreements in day-to- day relations, urged the various parties concerned to tread with caution in view of the current security situation in Nigeria.
He reminded the people of Ibadan that many Nigerians have come to see Ibadan as home, regardless of religious, ethnic and ideological persuasion.
