Maxi Lopez Fires Warning at iShowSpeed Over Argentina Jersey

Former Argentina striker Maxi Lopez has jokingly warned popular YouTuber and Cristiano Ronaldo supporter iShowSpeed against wearing the Argentina jersey ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup semi-final against England.

Lopez made the remarks after Argentina booked their place in the last four of the tournament with a hard-fought victory over Switzerland.

Argentina overcome Switzerland

Lionel Scaloni’s side secured a 3-1 extra-time win after Switzerland forced the match beyond 90 minutes.

Alexis Mac Allister gave Argentina an early lead before Dan Ndoye equalised in the second half.

Although Switzerland were reduced to 10 men after Breel Embolo’s dismissal, Argentina needed extra time to seal victory, with Julián Álvarez and Lautaro Martínez finding the net.

Lopez jokes about ‘jinx’ attempt

iShowSpeed attended Argentina’s quarter-final match after Portugal, led by Cristiano Ronaldo, were eliminated by Spain in the Round of 16.

The social media star had suggested he wanted to “jinx” Argentina during the encounter.

Reacting to the incident, Lopez delivered a light-hearted warning.

He told iShowSpeed not to appear at another Argentina match and joked that wearing the team’s jersey again would not be welcomed.

Argentina prepare for England clash

The defending world champions will now shift their focus to Wednesday’s semi-final showdown against England in Atlanta.

Argentina have endured demanding knockout fixtures, requiring extra time in two of their last three matches before reaching the semi-finals.

They will be aiming to book a place in the World Cup final with another strong performance.
